Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, in his statement about this important investment, emphasized that the hotel serves as a practice area for students; “Lavanta Tepesi Hotel Salda, opened about a year ago as one of the most comprehensive and best-serving facilities in our city by Lake Salda. During this period, we accommodated approximately 3,500 people in line with Salda's tourism potential. What makes this place special is its affiliation with Yeşilova İsmail Akın Vocational School of Tourism. The ground floor is used as a vocational school, while the upper floor is used as a practice hotel. In other words, students studying tourism and culinary arts reinforce their education by practicing after taking their theoretical courses. We call this unique educational model, which has no equivalent in Turkey, fully practical education. Our students can receive education directly within the practice as soon as they come to school in the first grade. In this respect, we offer a very important program that supports our university's pioneering approach in practical education. The gains our students achieve here are very high.

In recent years, with the increasing popularity of Lake Salda, a significant accommodation need has arisen in this region. Especially due to environmental protection regulations, building new facilities has become almost impossible. Lavanta Tepesi Hotel Salda stands out as an important accommodation facility meeting this need. This 58-room facility has a standard between 3 and 4 stars and provides service intertwined with students' practical training.
